When iI first started out as a writer (this is before the Flood, so bear with me), there was no internet to speak of and precious little in the way of nuts-n-bolts data for newbies/fledglings that wasn't in the vein of "work hard. read a lot. accept rejection."
All that is true, of course but it's not very helpful (most platitudes aren't).
Forum member and friend of mine, Brandon Easton has a podcast called WRITING FOR ROOKIES that I highly recommend and he puts on "No BS" Q &As at various comic and book conventions around the country. But these are great and you should check them both out whenever possible but they can only go so far.
In additino to those worthy efforts, I would like to post a few helpful links here and invite others to do the same. Bear in mind, I will clear out those "helpful" links that are you shilling your own services as editor or whatever. We have other threads for that sort of thing and it won't be tolerated here. This one is about help. That's it. Just helping.
